I know I'm in the minority here, seeing how many 5 star ratings this book received. But I just have to put in my review and say something about my reading experience. I should not have read this book. I really wish I could unread it. Ugh, why, why, why did Gage turn out to be such a loser in this book? He was so good and alpha-ish on the first one. He was self-assured, arrogant but head over heels in love with Ellie. But on this second book, he turned out to be a different person. He was weak. He let himself get manipulated by this evil witch Penelope. I was so disappointed with him.I completely agree with what the other reviewer said that Eliza made the best decision when she left him the first time at the end of the first book. What would have happened if she had stayed? Knowing now that he was really lying when he said he was going to drop Penelope, Eliza's future would just have been jeopardized. She would have stayed with someone who didn't even have the balls to fight for her.
I'm very disappointed. I know, I know, I've said it earlier but I just can't help saying it again. I should have just stopped with the first book and just created a good ending in my mind. Don't get me wrong, there was an HEA in this book but it was just not good enough for me. It seemed forced and just thrown in there. Gage's POV and his thoughts on the epilogue still did not make me change my mind about him.
Also, I skimmed a lot on about the halfway mark because of all the other stories about the other characters, band members and their girlfriends. I'm sure the author was just setting up for the next book(s), building those characters up and whatnot, but I just wasn't interested. I loved the first book but can't extend that love for the second book no matter how hard I tried.

I'm going to give Who W Are 4.5 stars. ☆☆☆☆ ½. I loved it!
From the start I loved it, lit leaves off where the first book started and when Eliza starts work we get to see our Gage again, you can tell these two belong together and are meant for each other. Little do we and they know that their road is going be long, full of pain, heart break, sorrow, longing. My heart breaks for these two like they were my best friends. I truly hate Penelope and what she has done to Gage, Eliza, everyone involved in this book. I hope she gets whats coming to her for all the hell she put everyone through. I loved Gage even more this book around, if that is possible. I kept comparing him to Kellan Kyle and how I never thought anyone could take over that spot ion my heart for #1 romantic rock star, Gage Grendel comes very, very close, it's scary. Their sexy is amazing and hot, I had to cool myself off a few times, it was definitely turned up a notch in this book. I LOVED Roy!!!!!!!!!!! I think he is my second favorite if not close to first with Gage, I love how he doesn't take no crap and tells it how it is, I love him and so glad we got to see his side and get to know him. Montana as always is a charmer and makes me laugh. Deed was good, didn't get very much Deed, but he is always fun and i'm glad he's happy. Glad Ben found someone and is happy, he made me laugh constantly!!! Kelsey and Monica were great, Monica was hilarious and I could see me and her being good friends. Kelsey I was proud of, I just knew her and Roy would get together and she would hopefully crack that tough shell of his.
Gage I was also upset with a good majority of the book, you will see why. I understand family comes first. But once you have someone a girlfriend, wife, partner, whatever that you want to be with for life, they should come first always, over everyone. That's how I feel about that. But he restored my faith in him and I couldn't stay mad. I love him to pieces and I do understand. Just my opinion and thoughts though.
There were also many twists, turns, surprises, shockers in this book. Be prepared to laugh, cry, yell, scream. It takes you on every emotion possible. It was truly amazing though and I couldn't be more happy that everything at least worked out for everyone and the epilogue was beautiful.
I hope for a Gage POV one day, I want to know many things this man was thinking at certain points. All in all it was amazing and you must read it. I loved it to pieces and Shanora has got a fan for life. Same with FireNine, I will read and love anything by them and Shanora <3
Some quotes I loved
"I'm not asking for your heart again, even though I'm pretty sure I still own it."
"You don't understand how much I need you. How much I miss you. You were all I had, but I...I f&*%-ed up."
"I can mend your heart, though. I can collect all the pieces and put you back together again."
"Don't be sorry. I understand. We'll just wash each other and giggle like girls. Nothing too major."
"Sometimes some people aren't worth the sacrifice, but if they are, you'll know."
"You're me first love. I'm in love with you and I always will be. But when it comes down to my family and my band, no one can get in between that."
"She's worse than a snake. She's a damn anaconda."
"I think you're forgetting you still carry balls in those tight pants of yours." (LMAO)
"Kelsey can come. I'll keep her company while u fondle Grendel." ( LOL, love Roy!)
"I know I hurt you, upset you, and you still might be messed up over how things ended with us , but I'm gonna make you mine again. And what I'm about to do to you will be part of my apology. You're mine, Eliza, and that'll never change, no matter what kinda s*&^ we go through."
"Just...love. I've missed you, too. My love for you hasn't faded."
"They're in my past now. They're the least of my worries. And I fought for you. I love you."
"I think we're all here to either make someone happy, to take care of someone who may be in need, or to make a difference in a few lives, good or bad."
I promise. I've made Gage my everything. I'm not losing him again. We're going to work it out."
This is the second book in the series and if I had not purchased the book at the same time as book one I would never have read it after reading the first one in the series. This was almost a DNF before 10% as this book and is as frustrating as the first one. The author tends to let the characters speak out of both sides of their mouths creating a lot of confusion as a reader. Even Gage and Eliza don’t seem to be on the same page of what happened at the end of the first book.
This book picks up 8 months after Eliza left to go back to college. She deals with Gage’s hostility towards her when she sees him again. She has to meet her father at his concert and ride to her house with the band after school is out for the summer. The band is now living in other states so it makes no sense they rode to her dad’s house with her and stayed overnight. She then moves to New York to begin a summer internship in graphic design. When she shows up she finds Gage there and finds out he set the whole thing up. He’s no longer hostile and is being an annoying jerk. I was appalled that she accepted the job after wanting to go to college and earn her own way in the world. He is even obnoxious enough to follow her around her first day when she meets her new supervisor who is described as young and clean but then turns into middle aged a few pages later. They get back together for less than a week before Penelope blackmails him into staying with her. Her father is CEO of their band, seriously? makes NO sense, maybe their label but not a band. He walks away from Eliza, gets engaged to Penelope to not loose the band or his sister who has turned back up dying of cancer with her threats of publishing dirt on the family.
2 years pass, she graduates college. In book one she is 21, now its 2 years and 10 months later graduating with a bachlors degree so I guess she didn’t start college until she was 20??? Took 2 years off after high school I guess. They also they continue to talk about the tour “last summer” not as in 2 years ago. At this point in the book I am skimming so these things don’t drive me crazy. Right before Gages wedding Roy and Montana go to Eliza and get her to go talk to Gages sister to try and stop the wedding. To tell her he is being blackmailed. When she arrives Penelope is there and they have it out. Gage shows up later and his sister talks to him. He ends things with Penelope. Gages sister continues to get worse until she pass’s away. Penelope later has a story published about him and his family dirt but her father keeps the band and during interviews Gages gets to set the story straight. Her mother and step father get their just due. The band signs for a world tour and works it out for her to travel with him and still work. She is pregnant and Gage proposes to her via song at a company event. The epilogue is the wedding three months after she has given birth to a baby boy. 2.5 Stars
