As you all will probably of guessed, I am a big Lacey Black fan! Like Major. I love her Rivers Edge series, and for such new indie author out in to the book world, she surely writes like she's been around for a while. Promise Me is about Holly, Avery's best friend and Jase, lead singer of rock bank BENT.

Holly is a RN, wondering where and when will she find her happily ever after love like her friends, Avery, Erin & Josslyn have got. What she didn't expect, was to find it at a meet greet of the hottest rock band in the charts of all places.

Jase is the lead singer and is exhausted, not just physically but emotionally as well. He wants a break from the rock star life, the road and even the women that come with it. He wants to slow down, take a breather and remember why he started writing and playing music in the first place - and should he be so lucky, maybe find love on the way.

Once Holly & Jase set eyes on each other they are done for - Insta love! But not that cheesy kind you come across in some books, this sort of insta-love is the kind where you can feel it in your bones even as the reader. Lacey draws you in with her writing and you can feel the sexual tension between them, it's almost trance like .

Unfortunately, their time is limited to just the concert as Jase is off continuing on his for a couple of months and so over that time they text and call each other, and get to know one another that way. They are both scared about how fast & heavy their feelings are for each other but neither of them are prepared to stop. Holly knows Jase. The real Jase, the one behind the fame and glory, she doesn't see him as the rock star he is, and unfortunately that comes back and bites them in the ass when the least expect it. Can Holly handle the pressure of fame and fortune which Jase comes with?

I was rooting for this couple from the second they met, Holy is the perfect heroine, sweet, sassy, unpretentious and most definitely deserves her own happy ever after, and Jase, well move over Maddox Jackson, but I'm pretty sure Jase just stole your spot in the River's Edge BBF league. He's hot, sweet, thoughtful, has a ginormous heart and he's rock star - that alone throws him up the charts.

Promise Me is only a novella in the River's Edge Series - however it's perfect! It didn't feel rushed nor did it not fit in with the style of the series. Can. Not. Wait. to read more of Lacey's work - she is easily in the top 10 list of authors I will be guaranteed to 1-click and recommend!

Oh Lacey you never disappoint. Of course I knew you wouldn't. I loved the first 3 books to your River Edge series. Even though this one was a shorter story it was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Yes I had to write it out like that.

I thought this story with Holly and Jase was well thought out. I don't know who her editor is but she definitely needs to keep them on her payroll since there was barely and when I mean barely I mean like no mistakes. Usually I find quite a few with the books I read but this one had maybe one mistake. And it wasn't a big deal.

Holly-I love her. I can so relate to her with helping her best friend and her family. I thought she was strong minded person. When things got difficult she had to make a decision, either give up or deal with it. Did she make the right one? Seriously do you really think I am going to answer that? Read Promise Me and find out for yourself.

Jase-WOW he is one heart stopping hunk of a man. He falls head over heels for a woman he just met. All while meeting Holly situations start to arrive right after another was solved. Can he have what he wants or will she be gone for good?

I liked how this was much more different then most romance books I read. Usually the man and woman meets and they hit it off quickly and sleep together, and etc. In this book Lacey set it off as they got to know each other before anything happened. It did have it's moments when reading it you knew what was going to happen and it did. It had its moments where you were wrong. The sex was intense and perfect for these two characters. It had it's awwww moment. And it had it's I need a tissue moment. Yes Lacey you made me cry.

I wouldn't consider this a stand alone book but if you wanted a quick read and could get past the couples that were made in the first three books, then this is the book for you. I so recommend this book to everyone.
This is a novella in Lacey Black’s fantastic Rivers Edge series. This series is one of my absolute favorites. Ms. Black has nailed it with this steamy, small town series, but this story was so gorgeous and romantic that I was just as swept off my feet as Jase and Holly were.

Holly Jenkins is the life long best friend of Avery Stevens and an honorary member of the Stevens clan. Working as an ER nurse, Holly is funny, loyal and loving. Holly has watched her friends all find their happily-ever-afters, and she is wondering when she’ll find hers.

Jase Bentley is exhausted. As the lead singer of the world famous band, Bent, he’s been on the road for the last three years. He’s sick of living out of his tour bus and hotel rooms; he’s tired of the never-ending days of appearances, interviews and shows in different cities every night; and he’s done with the meaningless hook-ups with groupies and the actresses or models that were his ex-girlfriends who only used him to further their careers. Lacey Black is a go-to author for me. I pull out one of her books when I’m looking to ready something sweet and sexy that is guaranteed to make me happy. She is an incredible author gifted with the ability to draw her readers right into the story by feeling the emotions of her characters right along with them. She is an auto-buy author for me, and I look forward to many more wonderful books from this talented author.
