I finished this book weeks ago but put off writing a review. Overall, the best that I can say is that it's OK... for me anyway. The plot was interesting and the story moves along at a good pace, but I just couldn't get a feel for Liza Marklund's characters. They had no emotional appeal and therefore fell flat with a giant thud.

The 1st book by Liza Marklund that I read was The Postcard Killers which was " co authored " by James Patterson. Most likely she wrote it as one of his factory of writers. How else could he write a thousand books a year.
Anyway, Red Wolf was all over Sweden. I liked this book almost as much as I liked The Postcard Killers which I would give 5 stars.
Really enjoy Liza Marklund's book, RED WOLF, and look forward to reading more of her writing. Though I don't know Norway well, the Norwegian terminology does not deter from a fascinating book.
This was my second book of Liza Marklund and not the last....I already started reading "Last Will".
For me, the ending was a bit too abrupt, almost like the autor reached the maximum number of peages and had to finish quickly. In my opinion the book would even be better if there was an additional chapter on the results of the publishing of the article, what happened to the minister, what happened to relation with her husband and the relation of him with the other.... But, like I said, I liked it a lot and recommended it to my friends.
Many insights into the area and how the citizens live. Quite an alternate to living in the U.S. Have since looked at other books by this author. She can be dreary but compelling you to read on.
A very good read. This author is now on my top ten list.
A great blend of story telling, mystery, and characters with human failings struggling with family issues, relationships, work, and ethics.
I buy used books all the time, however this book came with the cover and back cover filthy. Was extremely surprised and disappointed. Took two wipes to clean the book covers. I don’t expect covers to be immaculate but this book was filthy
